Benjamin Wayens is a geographer and Doctor of Science. As a lecturer and researcher, his work at IRIB (Université Saint-Louis Bruxelles) and IGEAT (Université Libre de Bruxelles) focuses on the geography of services (particularly retail and commercial real estate) and spatial analysis applied to observation and urban history. He pays special attention to the questions of education, training and popularisation of research, and provides expertise for the 'Observatoire de l'Enfant' of the French Community Commission. He has been the senior editor of Brussels Studies, the e-journal for academic research on Brussels, since 2012.
